--------------------------

Born January seventh two thousand and five
My daughter gave birth to a special child
A seven month baby she knew something was wrong
His breathing wasn't right, he fought to hang on
Needles and tubes kept him alive
Many sleepless nights many nights she cried
By his bedside she'd talk and comfort him
Pray to god to let her baby live
Six weeks later a phone call received
God granted a miracle for on his own he could breathe
At least she was home with her precious child
First time to hold him, first time to see him smile
Jacob grew slower than his sister or brothers
His abilities to learn wasn't like the others
One year of age he still couldn't walk
Two years of age he couldn't even talk
Three years of age Jacob was still the same
Four years later was just a slight change
Doctor after doctor to look at him
Finally diagnose severe autism
Jacobs now five he's a very special child
Big brown eyes and the biggest smile
He's not like other boys or girls
He's made his own place here in gods world
My daughter still waits to hear the words mom
Faith leads me to believe one day those words will come
